According to the FDA, Vita Foods has recalled packages of its smoked salmon sold at major supermarkets around the country due to potential listeria bacteria contamination.  Listeria bacteria can cause e fever, nausea and diarrhea and potentially worse problems in the elderly and very young or people with weakened immune systems according to the FDA.

If you have any of the recalled salmon, you should seal the recalled product in a plastic bag and return it to the store for a refund.
